A recent Illinois Auditor General report of the Illinois Department of Public Health found a lack of proper patient care, a lack of control of agency entities, and accounting issues.
Some of the main points from this report include:
- 6 out of 89 IDPH government vehicles were unable to provide mileage logs.
- Millions of taxpayer dollars spent in agreements with other agencies could not be accounted for.
- Lack of proper care in certain state-run care facilities.
These findings are incredibly concerning. A department that has a budget of $2.9 billion taxpayer dollars must operate effectively and with complete transparency.
