Rep. Davis Files Bill to Strengthen Grooming Penalties

YORKVILLE- Following the filing of House Bill 4340, State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) released the following statement:

“House Bill 4340 will prevent individuals accused of grooming or trafficking children from entering into plea deals in an attempt to spend less time in prison,” said Rep. Davis. “Essentially, we are creating a roadblock for sexual offenders who want to plead to a lesser offense.

“This is a really simple bill that will not only bring justice to the children and families affected by these horrendous acts, but will also keep dangerous predators off the streets for a longer period of time. It all comes down to protecting our children, and this bill is one easy way to do that.”

This bill is from a package of bills filed by Representative Davis called Protecting Kids.
