YORKVILLE – State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) is launching his summer reading program. Beginning today, students from Kindergarten to 5th grade can participate by reading eight or more books before August 16th, 2024. Books over 150 words count for two books. All students who complete their summer reading will receive a certificate celebrating their achievement and a voucher for free ice cream!
“As a parent, I know the importance of encouraging students to remain active readers during the summer months. I loved reading as a kid, spending warm summer afternoons with The Hardy Boys and Sugar Creek Gang,” said Rep. Davis. “These memories make me excited to offer an engaging reading program for students this summer!”
Once a student completes their reading, they can fill out their form with their parents verifying the information. Online forms can be completed by clicking here or visiting RepJedDavis.com. Paper forms are available at Rep. Davis’ district office, located at 1925 S. Bridge Street in Yorkville, and also at your local library.
