YORKVILLE – In response to the signing of the Child Abuse Notice Act (House Bill 4350), State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) released the following statement:
“The signing of the Child Abuse Notice Act into law is a huge victory for children facing abuse and trafficking across the state of Illinois. This law targets victims in locations identified by the Illinois State Police, such as truck stops, train stations, and tattoo parlors, by displaying signs with information about the indicators of abuse and pathways for seeking help.
“If even one child is saved from a horrific situation by these signs, it’s a huge success. Thank you to everyone who collaborated with me on this bill, including the Illinois State Police, the Department of Children and Family Services, and Colleen Murphy, local constituent and founder of the national movement, My Body Tells The Truth (MBTTT).”
