SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) recently filed the Preserving Freedoms Bill Package – a set of 11 bills aimed at promoting free choice and preserving our Constitution.
“Preserving freedom isn’t just political rhetoric – it’s a call for real action on behalf of those elected to represent the people,” said Rep. Davis. “These bills are designed to uphold individual rights, limit government overreach, and ensure every citizen can live without unnecessary restrictions.”
The Preserving Freedoms Bill Package includes:
- House Bill 1095: Provides an appeal process for revocation of status regarding regular state volunteers within the Department of Corrections.
- House Bill 1096: Requires the Department of Corrections to offer all classes and programs to inmates, regardless of their release date.
- House Bill 1105: Requires blood banks to identify and label blood donated by individuals who have received an mRNA vaccine.
- House Bill 1110: Makes the State of Illinois liable for damages incurred in mandated gun-free zones.
- House Bill 1111: Requires coroners to notify clerks upon the death of an individual to ensure they’re removed from the voter rolls.
- House Bill 1649: Amends election rules in small townships.
- House Bill 1650: Ensures a continual housecleaning of regulations found in the Illinois Administrative Code.
- House Bill 1717: Creates more transparency and accountability around property seizures and forfeitures.
- House Bill 1937: Caps the regulations imposed on Illinois businesses and residents in the Illinois Administrative Code.
- House Bill 3011: Requires Community College Trustees to take an oath before assuming office.
- House Bill 3668: Requires state agencies to analyze and offset new costs on businesses and local governments before adopting regulations.
