Rep. Davis Releases Statement Following Press Conference Protecting Women’s Spaces

SPRINGFIELD – State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) stood alongside concerned parents at a press conference last week, speaking out against a disturbing incident at a Deerfield school, where young female students were forced to change in front of a biological male.

“First and foremost, I want to recognize the Georgas family for their courage,” said Rep. Davis. “It’s no small thing to come down to Springfield and speak truth in the face of a political machine too often ignoring the voices of everyday families.”

Davis didn’t hold back. “What happened in Deerfield isn’t only outrageous, it’s wrong. No young girl should ever be forced to undress in front of a biological male – period. And to have school staff enforce this? It’s not education. It’s indoctrination under pressure.”

Rep. Davis pointed to a broader issue: “This story didn’t happen in a vacuum. This story and others are the consequences of radical policies being pushed out of Springfield. They’re putting politics ahead of common sense, and it’s our kids – our families – who are paying the price.”

He continued, “It shouldn’t be controversial to say young girls deserve privacy and safety. It’s common sense, and it’s time Springfield started listening.”
